World BEYOND War’s Executive Director David Swanson will be the first-ever recipient of the Real Nobel Peace Prize, awarded by the Lay Down Your Arms Foundation in Oslo, Norway, next month.
David Swanson is an author, activist, journalist, and radio host. He is executive director of World BEYOND War and campaign coordinator of RootsAction.org. Swanson’s books include his latest: NATO What You Need to Know with Medea Benjamin. He blogs at DavidSwanson.org. He hosts Talk World Radio. He is also a U.S. Peace Prize recipient.
Swanson will be speaking at events in Sweden as well. All of the events will be free and open. Here’s the schedule:
OSLO, NORWAY
Awarding of the first annual Real Nobel Peace Prize, awarded by the Lay Down Your Arms Foundation.
When: November 10, 2024, Prize session; 12:00 – 13:30, then lunch, then Round table 15:00 to 17:00 with invited peace activists, organizations, and all who are interested. Chaired by Tomas Magnusson and with speakers: Jan Öberg, Glenn Diesen, Ola and Erni Friholt. Topic: “How do we stop the current militarization”.
Where: Litteraturhuset, Oslo.

Mötet startar kl 12 med musik, tal och prisceremoni, tar cirka 1,5 timma. Därefter en lunchpaus och återupptaget möte med frågor och diskussion, med deltagande av Glenn Diesen, Ola Tunander, Jan Öberg, Marielle Leraand, Ingeborg Breines m fl.
